How to Configure Compliance Settings (Spam Words, Links, Unsubscribe)

Why compliance settings matter

Compliance settings in EmaReach help you avoid spam triggers: banned words, too many links or images, and missing unsubscribe links. Configuring them reduces the chance your emails are filtered or flagged. Open Settings (sidebar) → Compliance tab.

Spam words

1. In Settings → Compliance, find Spam words (or "Words to avoid").
2. Enter a list of words or phrases that often trigger spam filters (e.g. "free", "guarantee", "act now"). Separate with commas or new lines.
3. Save. EmaReach may warn or block templates that contain these words; fix templates and try again.

Max links and images

1. Find Max links per email and Max images per email (e.g. 3 links, 2 images).
2. Set limits that match best practices (fewer links and images often perform better and look less like spam).
3. Save. Templates that exceed these limits may be rejected or flagged.

Require unsubscribe link

1. Find Require unsubscribe link (or similar).
2. Turn it on so that every template (or campaign) must include the unsubscribe placeholder. This keeps you compliant with CAN-SPAM and similar rules.
3. Save.

After changing compliance

• Templates — Review existing templates; remove spam words and add unsubscribe if required. Use Templates → Template Guide for the correct unsubscribe placeholder.
• New campaigns — New templates will be checked against these settings before save or launch.

Summary checklist

• Settings → Compliance.
• Set spam words list; set max links and max images.
• Turn on "Require unsubscribe link".
• Update templates to match.
